Meet Your Taxidermist

About Robert Carmicle and Buck Creek Taxidermy

My journey into taxidermy began more than 20 years ago after I had a disappointing experience with a taxidermist. That moment shaped my mission: to create a business built on honesty, craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service. Two decades later, Buck Creek Taxidermy continues to stand on those values. I know how important each trophy is — not just as a mount, but as a memory tied to a moment in the outdoors. That’s why I take the time to ensure every detail is done right. The worst part of my job is having to tell a client their cape can’t be saved, so I go above and beyond to prevent that from happening. If you’re unsure how to cape your trophy, bring it to me — I’ll not only take care of it but also teach you how to do it properly, free of charge, when I’m completing the work. We also believe in giving back. Youth are the future of the outdoors, and we proudly support them. We also hold the utmost respect for our first responders, current military members, and especially our disabled veterans. To show our appreciation, we offer discounts as a small way of saying thank you for their service. At Buck Creek Taxidermy, it’s about more than mounts — it’s about people, memories, and trust. After 20 years, I’m still as passionate as ever about helping hunters and families preserve what matters most.
